The RYC Sailing School is looking for sponsors to contribute to the acquisition of new sailboats.
Although full sponsorship of one or more sailboats is preferred a package of various less costly options ranging from naming rights of a boat to advertising your business on the hull and/or sail is also available.
In all instances the sponsorship is once-off only and benefit for the sponsor is for the whole life of the sailboat sponsored.
Complete RYC Sailing School Sponsorship
For just R385,000 all inclusive your company is able to completely sponsor the RYC sailing school for up to six years.
Included in this comprehensive package are the following advertiser / sponsor benefits:-
- Naming rights of the RYC sailing school itself
- Naming rights for all RYC club and sailing school boats
- Exclusive branding and advertising rights on the hulls and sails of all RYC club and sailing school boats
- Unlimited use of RYC property and facilities for you, your staff and company

All sponsorhip of the RYC sailing school qualifies for and earns credit toward your company's BEE and social responsibility score.
Sailboat Sponsorship Option(s)
We have several 'complete sailboat' sponsorship opportunities available ranging from as little as R5,000 to sponsor a very good pre-owned Optimist to R49,500 to sponsor a brand new RS Feva.
The following provides an indication of complete sailboats available for sponsorship and level of sponsorship required:-
- Optimist - R5,000
- Optimist (Dragon boat) - R9,500
- Optimist (nearly new) - R16,500
- Miracle (completely refurbished) - R9,850
- RS Tera (brand new) - from R19,980
- RS Feva (brand new) - from R49,500
Sponsors of complete sailboats may name the sailboat anything they wish be it a family, business or brand name. The name chosen will be permanently stenciled to both the port and starboard sides of the sailboat.
Sponsors of complete sailboats may also advertise themselves, their business or brand on the sail and foils of the boat. The only restriction in this regard being what sizes are allowed in terms of the relevant class association regulations to which that sailboat belongs.
Partial Sailboat Sponsorship Options
To allow individuals and small business not able to justify sponsorship of a complete sailboat to still sponsor the RYC Sailing School there are
several partial sponsorship options available.
- Sailboat Naming Rights - From just R1,500 you may name any club boat anything you wish be it a family, business or brand name. The name you choose will be permanently stenciled to both the port and starboard sides of the sailboat. Cost of naming rights will depend on type of boat selected and the age of that boat.
- Sail Branding / Advertising - One of the most visible methods of advertising on a sailboat. Any size up to the maximum allowed by the relevant sailboat class association regulations is permitted. Cost is just R2.50 per cm2 (less than half what a classified advert in the local newspaper costs) excluding cost of vinyl lettering or silkscreen if not supplied by the advertiser.
- Foil Branding / Advertising - Advertise your product or brand on any club boat rudder or centerboard for just R0.50 per cm2 excluding cost of vinyl lettering or silkscreen if not supplied by the advertiser. Any size up to the maximum allowed by the relevant sailboat class association regulations is permitted.
- Burgee Branding / Advertising - Fly your product / brand advertising high and visible. Priced from just R165 per burgee (minimum quantity for print is ten) including cost of silkscreen.
