REDHOUSE YACHT CLUB Newsletter 29/10/2008 |
Hello all, The Vice Commodores Race this past Sunday enjoyed really good support, was a fantastic success and enormous fun was had by all. Unfortunately due business commitments I had to miss this event but from the many reports I have had congratulations are due to our Vice Commodore Peter Senn, his wife Shona and the rest of his team who put together a really fun race. The precedent Peter has set will be hard to equal. Photographs of the sailing are online on the club web page and may be viewed by clicking here. If anybody would like a high resolution print of any of the pictures please telephone Ian Visser on (041) 365 3315. Thank you very much Peter and Shona for organising a really great day. This Sunday there will no organised racing at the Club to allow you to sail at leisure, get in your last practice and tweak you boat for maximum performance ahead of the GLYC Inter Club next weekend. The Club will be open from 9.00am till the last person leaves and braai fires will be available. This is an ideal opportunity for you to bring family and friends to Club for a relaxed day of sailing. Sailing School for both juniors and adults will still be as normal this Sunday with a full morning session starting at 10h00. The GLYC Inter Club Regatta to be held at George Lakes Yacht Club next weekend is a must attend event for all members who are able to get away. This regatta is really going to be both great sailing and great fun - please support it either as a sailor or spectator. If you need assistance getting your boat to GLYC (or are able to assist others) please phone Paul on 041 581 5394 or 082 225 1407. More information and entry forms for the Inter Club regatta may be viewed at http://www.glyc.org.za/interclub.htm Have a wonderful weekend and please do join us for a social sail and braai at Redhouse this Sunday.
