This Weekend at Redhouse we have the rescheduled Spring Series Trophy races 3 & 4 that were postponed in October due to lack of wind. This is our third last organised sailing weekend of the year so please make a real effort to join your fellow sailors on the water. The long term weather forecast predicts a fresh Southeaster, that coupled with an incoming tide, will provide good racing conditions for all this Sunday. Race start time is 2.00pm sharp and racing should be completed before 4.30pm allowing plenty of time for our juniors busy writing exams to sail and get back home for some last minute study. RYC Sailors not participating in the 2009 Youth Nationals at HMYC are reminded of the open day and dinghy racing at the ABYC on Wednesday 16 December. The ABYC commodore tells me that besides the sailing there will be loads of other activity including helicopter rides, braai fires and entertainment for the whole family. More info to follow in next weeks newsletter. Sailing School for both junior and seniors is as normal from 9.30am this Sunday. The Annual Boys Rowing Camp previously held at Port Alfred has been relocated to Redhouse and takes place from 01 till 08 January 2010. The RYC property is being used by the rowers and volunteers are sought to manage the 'tuck shop' that will be run by RYC during that week. Besides keeping the rowers supplied with sweets, cooldrinks and snacks the tuck shop will raise much needed funds for our Club. If you are able to offer your time to perform tuck shop duty for even just one of those days please let either myself or Rhona know as soon as possible. Advertising Space in the 2010 Inter School Regatta brochure is still available. Please speak to Rhona Clark or Di Robertson to book your advertising space as soon as possible. Have a really great weekend and I look forward to you joining us on the water this Sunday for the rescheduled Spring Series 3 & 4 race. Yours in sailing
