The GLYC Inter Club Regatta this weekend is the first of the two inter club regattas of the season and is a must attend for all RYC sailors and supporters.

To ensure that the S.Cape clubs support the remaining inter club regatta that will be held at Redhouse in January 2009 it is very important that our Club is very well represented at this event. Please do support for this event - even if you will attend as a supporter and not sail.

George Lakes Yacht Club is a superb venue and located on the stunningly beautiful fresh water lake with an island in the middle. With easy launch facilities and sheltered conditions all sailors - including our novices - will really have a great weekend.

Sailing School - There will no sailing school or other organised sailing at Redhouse this weekend as all coaches are sailing at the GLYC inter club.

RYC River Champs & The Viking Funeral scheduled for the weekend of Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November have been escalated to a whole weekend of fun for everyone. This event that includes two days of sailing, a spit braai, the Viking funeral and entertainment for all is destined to be one the highlights of the year - please diarise and keep this weekend open to be at Redhouse. RYC Inter Schools 2009 is expected to enjoy huge support from local and visiting sailors. This event is held as the primary fundraiser for the Junior Sailing Trust and also affords many new junior sailors their first opportunity to demonstrate their skills against other sailors of the same age.

A large portion of the revenue is generated from the sale of advertising in the official brochure / program that each entrant is given. If your business, employer or anyone else you know would like to book advertising space in the official brochure please contact Rhona Clark on 041 4631611.

The advertising rates are extremely reasonable and besides being tax deductible for advertisers the money raised is all used for an extremely good cause.

Club Subs & Shed Rentals - A friendly reminder that your club subs and boatshed rentals for the 2008/9 sailing season are now past due. If you have not received your account or need to make arrangements to pay your subs in installments please telephone Esme' on (041) 463 1605.
