Hello all,

This Weekend at Redhouse we sail the annual RYC Class Championships regatta with 14h00 start times on both Saturday and Sunday.

The River Championships are one of the premier events on the Redhouse sailing calendar and as a scratch event it enjoys competition from many of the more experienced sailors who often do not race the handicap events.

To help ensure any sailors obliged to stay on home for Mothers Day on Sunday (and provided the winds and tides remain favorable all afternoon) remain in the running for the trophy the bridge will do their best to squeeze in three of the four races in the series on Saturday leaving just one race instead of two on Sunday. This will then allow those unable to sail on Sunday to count the Sunday race as their discard without affecting their chances of taking the trophy home.

The current weather forecast for the weekend is moderate Southwester on Saturday and quite a brisk Southeasterly on Sunday both of which will provide good racing for sailors of all abilities.

Free Tea & Cake is being offered by Rhona and her galley team to all mothers supporting their other half or children at the race(s) on Sunday. For the dads who bring mum's to Redhouse this Sunday there will be free beer for them on Fathers Day next year!

Sailing School - The second last session of this seasons sailing school will be as normal from 10h00 on Sunday. All sailing school sailors are asked to please be at the club by 9h45 and ensure their boats are taken out of the sheds and rigged ahead of time.

The Club boats will be available for those without their own boats to race in both races this weekend - please liaise with me or coach Steve if you wish to sail a club boat in the races.

Boats For Sale - If you are planning on changing boats between now and the start of new sailing season or have boat spares that you no longer require please let me know. We have quite a few members looking to buy boats as well as needing spares like Laser foils, spars, etc.
