This Weekend at Redhouse we sail all four legs of the Summer Series Trophy. Races 1 & 2 will be sailed on Saturday afternoon and races 3 & 4 on Sunday afternoon with 14h00 start times on both days. Following the recent howling winds the weather forecast predicts a much calmer weekend with winds peaking at 14 knots on Saturday and just 7 knots on Sunday thereby affording all sailors an equal chance to perform and compete for the trophy. With just a three weeks till the Eastern Cape Inter Club regatta to be sailed at Redhouse it is important that all members please make an effort to sail this weekend and get some racing practice in after the Christmas break. A Memorial Service for Kim Groenewald, a longstanding RYC member who passed away last weekend, will be held at 10.00am this Saturday morning the 9th January at the Redhouse Village Hall. All RYC members are welcome to attend and bid farewell to Kim. Our sincere condolences are also extended to Frank Collier whose brother Tom passed away last Sunday after a short illness. Sailing School - They will no sailing school this Sunday but sailing school members are still most welcome to use the sailing school boats and sail in the races this weekend. The 2010 sailing school season for both junior and seniors begins with a massive membership drive and some shiny new sailboats at 9.30am on Sunday 17 January 2010. I am presently in the very cold UK for the London Boat Show and RS Sailing international dealer conference so will unfortunately miss the sailing at Redhouse this weekend but am really looking forward to getting back to the sunshine and to joining you on the water for the sailing at Redhouse next weekend. Have a wonderful and exciting weekend of sailing at Redhouse! Yours in sailing
