REDHOUSE YACHT CLUB g
Sailing Into 2010

Hello all,

A very Happy New Year to you all from everyone at the RYC!

The RYC Sailing Program for 2010 has been changed to accommodate the Grey rowers who are camping and holding their annual weeklong rowing camp at Redhouse this year.

The complete 2010 Summer Series trophy races will now be sailed on both Saturday and Sunday next weekend (09 & 10 January) with 2.00pm starts on both days. A great way to end the school holidays and start the new year - please diarise and support.

Another pending change to the 2010 sailing program is the NSRI regatta that will need to be moved from 24 & 25 April to another date as the W.Cape Provincial Regatta that is traditionally well supported by RYC sailors has been rescheduled to that weekend.

The updated sailing program for 2010 will be posted on the Club web site as soon as the sailing committee has completed the changes.

This Wednesday Afternoon at Redhouse we need all available RYC sailors to make themselves available at the Club to assist with the Grey rowers introduction to the (better) sport of sailing.

The Grey rowers, about seventy of them, have Wednesday afternoon off from rowing and RYC has been asked to use that afternoon to introduce the boys to sailing.

All RYC members, especially those with two person sailboats like Mirror's and Gypsy's, are asked to please take advantage of the awesome sunny weather forecast for Wednesday afternoon and be at the Club from 13h00 to share their knowledge of sailing and boats with the Grey boys - all of whom are potential new sailing members of RYC.

With the E.Cape Inter Club and E.Cape Inter School regattas just a few weeks away this is an ideal and important opportunity to boost our sailing numbers even further.

For more information, or to offer use of your sailboat if you are not able to be there yourself, please telephone Andrew Butler on (041) 368 2240 or (084) 564 3128.

The RYC Sailing School is looking for additional sponsors to contribute to the acquisition of the new sailboats.

Although full sponsorship of one or more sailboats is preferred a package of various less costly options ranging from naming rights of a boat to advertising your business on the hull and/or sail is available. For more information on these sponsorship options please click here.

If you, or your company, are able to sponsor a boat, or even part of a boat, and thereby not only contribute to the growth of your Club but also help get more 'bums on boats' and grow the sport of sailing please telephone Andrew Butler on (041) 368 2240 or (084) 564 3128 or email me for more information.

Sailing School for both junior and seniors begins with a massive membership drive and some shiny new sailboats at 9.30am on Sunday 17 January 2010.

The Men's Ablutions Renovations are now complete and we are starting the 2010 sailing year with sparkling new facilities. A very BIG thank you from everyone to the donors for their generosity without which the renovations would not have been possible. Thank you very much indeed.

I wish you a all wonderful and exciting year of sailing and a safe, healthy, prosperous and happy 2010!

Yours in sailing
