This Weekend at Redhouse we are going to be very busy with not just sailing races 1 & 2 of the Christmas series but also with the RYC boot (boat) sale! The Christmas Series Trophy races start at 2.00pm sharp. The long term weather predicts a warm day with moderate winds that will make for interesting racing on the incoming tide. The RYC Boot Sale is from 10.00am on Sunday Morning through till the start of the first race. Anybody (not just RYC members) is welcome to pitch up and sell their wares be they boats, boat parts, trailers, clothes or even homemade jam! Besides what you may have sell or swap the Club has loads of gear it will be selling including wetsuits, some boat parts and perhaps a couple of the sailing dinghies that have been abandoned in the boat sheds or for which shed rental has not been paid. Please have a dig in your garage, especially for old boating bits, and participate in the boot sale. What you regard as junk may be just what somebody needs to get their boat back on the water! There is no charge for selling but sellers are asked to please make a donation to the Club relative to the volume of business they may enjoy. Be there early to grab a bargain, sell your unwanted stuff and enjoy morning tea in the clubhouse! A SMS Sailing Alert system is being setup for our members. The idea to use it to let you know of any last minute changes to the sailing program and also to remind you of Club events. All members are asked to please click here and type in their name and cel number(s) to be added to database. I promise you that other than sailing reminders the system will not be be abused and used for anything else. Volunteers are still been sought to help manage the 'tuck shop' during the Grey School rowing camp at Redhouse from 01 till 08 January 2010. Besides keeping the rowers supplied with sweets, cool drinks and snacks the tuck shop will raise much needed funds for our Club. If you are able to offer your time to perform tuck shop duty for even just one of those days please let either myself or Rhona know as soon as possible. Sailing School for both junior and seniors is as normal from 9.30am this Sunday. Have a really great weekend and I look forward to you joining us at the boot sale and on the water this Sunday for the Christmas Series races. Yours in sailing
