Congratulations Josh!

Hello all,

Josh Woollard earns hearty congratulations from everyone at Redhouse for qualifying for a well deserved place in the South African Optimist team to represent his country at the African Continental Optimist Championships later this year.

Very well done to you Josh - Redhouse is extremely proud of you and the example you have set!

Last Weekend we enjoyed a fantastic turnout for the Class Championships on both Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday the first race was sailed in mild winds that insisted on switching throughout the race making for a somewhat frustrating but challenging race.

The second race was sailed on a shortened course in gusting winds ahead of a thunderstorm that resulted in several capsizes at the head of the fleet and a very close hotly contested finish.

Sunday's racing was a lot more consistent with a decent wind and good racing demonstrated by all in both races.

It was really good to welcome the Kingwood College team to the Club and we look forward to them joining us on the water for the remaining regattas this season.

The final results will be posted as soon as they are available.

This Weekend with many of our regulars travelling down to Saldahna Bay for the Western Cape Provincials there is no organised sailing at Redhouse. Good luck, great sailing and a safe journey to all of you who will be representing our Club at Saldahna Bay.

Sailing School - There will be a full session sailing school at Redhouse from 10h00 this Sunday followed by fun racing. Please call Andrew on 084 564 3128 for further information.

I wish you all a great Easter weekend and look forward to you sailing with us in the second half of the Autumn Series next weekend.

Yours in sailing
