Well the wind had the last laugh over the past weekend with gusts up to 55k, so even our heavy weather sailors decided not to brave it. However Father Christmas managed to get down the river in the rescue boat and deliver his presents to some very excited children, who had a good party with jumping castle etc. Darryl managed to complete his sailing school also for the year with a fun weekend for the students. Watch this space on more news of a training camp to be organised at the beginning of January. Some of our members braved the elements and camped over at the club, believe a good time was had.
We start sailing in the new year on Sunday 11 January with Max Lippstreu race which is the “Up” river race quite a nice sail, this will start not before 11-00. This will be a good tune up for the next weekend which is our Interclub regatta and the Gypsy Africa’s.
The regatta will start not before 11-30 on Saturday 17 January and will also be sailed on Sunday, details are on our website but I will send out reminder early in New Year. Please all sailors that have Gypsys get them out from wherever, dust them down and come and sail them , if you can’t, lend them to a friend need as many as possible on the water for the Africa’s
We would like to wish all of our sailors that are at regatta’s over the festive period “Good Luck” and especially to Colin & Sophie sailing in the Sonnet Nationals bring it home !!!!!! 🙂
It only remains for me to wish you all well over the festive season and if you are travelling safe journey and home, we need you back on the river next year.
MERRY CHRISTMAS & a GREAT SAILING NEW YEAR !!!!
