NEWS from RYC – 14 October 2014

Very successful short tactical races were held on Sunday 5 October in a great (for some) easterly with a good turnout of boats, with more breakages happening, hopefully they will all get sorted before we start our season in ernest. Like this coming Sunday when we will be sailing the Spring Series as many races as possible ….. me thinks there might be a bit of wind 🙁 . Please note the starting time of first race will be not before 12-00 and not as stated on the calendar.

While some of us were flying across the river a few of our members were braving the swells and waves at Mossel Bay not much wind by all accounts but all who went enjoyed it. Pierre coming 5  in the standard Laser fleet, Colin x Lauren coming 5 in the Sonnet fleet and our great new wonder girl Sophie coming 4 in the Tera Pro and also the getting the cup for 1st girl. Well done to you all !!! and the shore crew.

Our first training camp took place last week in the great wind that was  blowing around and all seven kids had an absolute ball I believe !!

On the 2 November the club will be having a cold buffet luncheon to celebrate our 110 year at 12-00, the invite will follow these notes please let Es know ASAP if you are coming, how many etc, we need the numbers for catering. The races for that day will start at 14-00 after the lunch. So please come along and support your club.

That was the nice part, on a more serious note please can you pay your club subs if you haven’t already done so, as a list of non payers will be placed on the notice board at the beginning of November as per our constitution. Remember if you haven’t paid, you won’t get you SAS card and can’t sail in regattas.

Well that is all for now, remember the party and maybe see you on the water on Sunday.
Fair Weather Pam 🙂
